Professor Qing Li is a leading expert in forest medicine and a professor at Nippon Medical School in Tokyo, where he serves as the founder and chairman of the Japanese Society of Forest Medicine. His work focuses on the positive effects of time spent in nature on mental health and overall well-being.

Scientific research shows that spending time in forests can significantly reduce stress levels, support the immune system, improve sleep quality, and enhance overall well-being. His work provides strong evidence that contact with nature is not only relaxing, but also has measurable biological and physiological benefits.

Professor Li is also the author of the book Shinrin-Yoku: The Art and Science of Forest Bathing, which popularizes this method and presents scientific evidence of its positive effects on health.

What is Forest Bathing?

Forest bathing, also known as forest therapy, is a method that involves consciously spending time in a forest environment while fully engaging with the surrounding nature. This technique aims to reduce stress, strengthen the immune system, and support mental well-being.

Professor Qing Li has long been dedicated to researching the positive effects of shinrin-yoku on the human body. His studies have shown that contact with nature can improve not only the body’s stress response but also overall health, which may positively influence hormonal balance and reproductive health.
