Intrauterine insemination treatment (IUI)

Intrauterine insemination is one of the primary methods of infertility treatment. It is the oldest and simplest technique of assisted reproduction. Both fresh and frozen sperm can be used for this treatment. First, we subject the sperm sample to a spermiogram test. Based on this test, we prepare a sample with the highest possible number of quality cells. Using a thin catheter, we insert an adequate dose directly into the woman's uterus at the time of ovulation. IUI treatment is non-invasive and without significant risks. However, it tends to have a lower success rate than IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment.

Who is intrauterine sperm insemination treatment suitable for?

The condition for using this method is healthy sperm in a man, so-called normozoospermia. In women, this technique's success depends on fallopian tube patency and proven ovulation. We, therefore, recommend IUI treatment mainly to couples who have been trying to conceive naturally for more than 1 year and no specific cause of infertility has been discovered.
