Infertility may be treated by applying various methods. However, each centre has its own strategy. Various stimulation protocols and diverse medicaments or their combinations may be employed, and the “know-how” of the laboratories differs significantly. The centres determine their own strategy of working with patients, and design their own quality management system. They may differ by both their approach and their results.
The therapeutic procedures of the Unica Clinic are evaluated on a regular basis by the entire team, discarding those of little efficiency and replacing them with more effective ones. Quality is managed in accordance with the European Standard ISO 9001:2000.
Patients thus have the advantage of equal therapeutic procedures and treatment quality, regardless of which one of the physicians they discuss their case with. The treatment always represents the result of the entire team’s effort and patients get acquainted with all the staff members during their therapy.
The diagnostic and therapeutic procedures take place at the Unica Clinic, so as not to burden the patients and the referring physicians. After becoming pregnant, the female patients return to their gynaecologist who continues to take care of them during pregnancy.
What is necessary prior to treatment?
Before deciding on the treatment method, it is necessary to evaluate the reproductive health of both partners. All necessary examinations, including hormone analyses of the woman and the man, the man’s spermiogram, etc., are performed during the initial visit to the clinic, the so-called Indication Consulting Visit.
How to make an appointment?
The patient herself makes an appointment by calling the number +420 54321 7777 and choosing a date and time suitable for both her and her partner. She arrives to the clinic with her male partner one hour prior to the specified time to have the current spermiogram examined by an andrologist. The results are ready within one hour and thus available when the couple enters the consulting room for their appointment. If the man had the spermiogram examined elsewhere within the last three months, this examination does not need to be repeated and the couple comes to the appointment at the hour arranged previously via telephone.
What is the Indication Consulting Visit for?
During the one-hour session, the couple’s problem is discussed with both partners and the strategy for further treatment is suggested. Particular time schedules and the earliest possible term of pregnancy are always communicated.
All procedures are explained in detail to both partners and informative brochures are provided. The whole treatment is adapted to the possibilities and conditions of the patients to enable an easy and stress-free progress. Infertility is an issue affecting the most intimate area of the couple’s relationship. Therefore, the treatment should always be individually tailored and take part in an atmosphere of mutual trust.
May the patient undergo any part of the treatment at her gynaecologist’s?
If the patient cannot come to the clinic for some part of the therapeutic procedure and her gynaecologist is able to provide the necessary care, we will gladly co-operate.
Is hospitalization necessary during the therapeutic procedure?
The entire treatment at the Unica Clinic is of outpatient character and requires no hospitalization. It is carried out on pre-determined dates according to an exact plan, and the individual visits take one to three hours.
