ICSI represents one of the most reliable and modern methods of fertility treatment.
During the sperm injection, we choose quality sperm and injected it right into the cytoplasm of an oocyte. ICSI thus allows us to choose both the oocyte and the sperm and join them together. By this careful selection, the probability of conception and a happy pregnancy increases.
In 60 – 70% of couples, the male factor takes part in infertility when the IVF method itself cannot guarantee success because sperm either does not penetrate the eggs at all or abnormal (non-quality) sperm penetrate the egg. The ICSI principle enriched by other selection methods of quality sperm (PICSI or IMSI) can help to ensure a favourable combination of egg and sperm leading to pregnancy.
